Harfiyah Abdel Haleem is a trustee of the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences (IFEES) and Co-director of the Muslim Women's Collective, London.  An editor, speaker, book reviewer and writer, she is the author of Islam and the Environment, co-editor of The Crescent and the Cross: Muslim and Christian Approaches to War and Peace, and has contributed to various books, including Muslim Women in the United Kingdom and Beyond and Witnesses to Faith: Martyrdom in Christianity and Islam.

Harfiyah has written scripts for a TV series, How Green Is Your Deen?, aimed at Muslim teenagers, and her teaching experience includes running an Introduction to Islam course for first year BA students at London’s SOAS. She has also delivered various academic papers, including 'Animal Rights in Islam', (Chester University, May 2011) and 'Sustainable Production', for the Cambridge University conference on 'Sustainability in Crisis' (September 2011).

She has been involved with IFEES for nine years, during which time, amongst other things, she has helped with fundraising, run eco-workshops for Muslim Scouts at three Living Islam summer events, written website copy and given talks and presentations at events for schools and universities.
