Mark Billingham is one of the UK’s most acclaimed and popular crime writers. His series of London-based novels featuring D.I. Tom Thorne has won him the Sherlock Award and the Theakston’s Crime Novel Of The Year Award. He has been nominated for five Crime Writers’ Association Daggers. Each book, from his debut Sleepyhead, to the most recent, Good As Dead, has been a Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller, as was his acclaimed standalone thriller In the Dark. The latest Tom Thorne novel – Good As Dead – was published in August 2011. Thorne, with David Morrissey in the title role, debuted in October 2010 on Sky 1.

Mark has also worked successfully as a stand-up UK’s comedian for more than fifteen years and still performs occasionally at some of the country’s foremost comedy clubs. He regularly reviews books and movies on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row and has recently presented a BBC Radio 4 documentary about Patricia Highsmith as well as a four part TV series about notorious murders for the History Channel.
