Nasim Abaeian is an art instructor and children’s book illustrator living in Dubai. She was born in Esfahan, Iran and was educated in Genoa in northern Italy before finishing high school in Tehran. She received her degree in Visual Communication from the American University of Sharjah in the UAE.

After spending some time working as a graphic designer and book cover illustrator in Tehran, Nasim went to the United States to learn more about the technical aspects of illustration. She obtained her MA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia.

Nasim has illustrated three books for children: Ghaya va al Hanish (Ghaya and the Snake); Dajajat Mithana (Mithana’s Chicken), both published by Kalimat, Sharjah, UAE, and Grandma Oysho.

Currently, she is an adjunct instructor at the art and design department of Zayed University in Dubai and also holds art workshops at galleries and institutes in Dubai.
