Patty Paine is the author of The Sounding Machine, Feral and Elegy & Collapse and co-editor of Gathering the Tide: An Anthology of Contemporary Gulf Poetry. Her poems, reviews, interviews and photographs have appeared in Blackbird, The Atlanta Review, Gulf Stream, The Journal, Floorboard and numerous other publications. She is the founding editor of Diode Poetry Journal and Diode Editions, and is Assistant Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar, where she teaches writing and literature, and is Assistant Director of the Liberal Arts and Sciences programme.
