Ali Al Shaali
Engineer Ali Al Shaali is an active member of the Emirates Writers‘ Union. He published A Bee and a Rababa and Faces and Weary Others, two anthologies of poetry. He was the CEO of Dubai International Poetry Festival 2009. He has also participated in many literary events and served as a member of many cultural committees, including the Cultural and Scientific Association, Knowledge Without Borders, the Federation of Emirates Writers, the Emirates Publishers Association and the Abu Dhabi Conference for Translation. He is a member of the editorial teams of Qaaf magazine and Bayt Alshe’r magazine, and is a frequent guest on the Sharjah TV programme In the Presence of the Book.
Ali is currently the Senior Director of Publishing & Translation Department, at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; where he was mandated, in March 2008, to contribute to the Foundation’s strategy to firmly establish the foundation on the region’s cultural scene. He is the founder and Director of Dar Al Hudhud publishing house.
Ali Al Shaali is a graduate of the Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development. Possess remarkable business development skills with a wide range of technical and managerial experiences that qualify him to play a notable role as one of the UAE’s young leaders
Ali holds a BSc. in Civil Engineering from the UAE University, and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, USA.
