A graduate of Cambridge University, Andy Lake is a specialist in Smart and Flexible Working, and editor of Flexibility.co.uk, the online journal of flexible work. He has been involved in dozens of implementations of Smart Working (including in the Middle East), and conducted leading-edge research into its impacts. Andy also coordinates the Smart Work Network, a network of 170 larger companies and public sector organisations that collaborate to develop smart and flexible working.
Andy’s management book Smart Flexibility was published by Gower in January 2013. Previous publications include the Smart Working Handbook, Workhubs: Smart Workspace for the Low Carbon Economy, and Can Homeworking Save the Planet?
Andy divides his time between living in Cambridgeshire and Beijing, where he is currently working on his next book, Work-life Balance: East and West. His first novel, Shades of Green, was published in February 2013. Shades of Green is a challenging political thriller set in a near-future Britain where environmental issues dominate the political agenda and the ideological spectrum runs from Grey to Deepest Green.
