Greg Malouf is widely considered to be the master of modern Middle Eastern food. Over the last fifteen years his influence on contemporary cuisine has spread throughout the world, transforming the way diners in the West understand and enjoy Middle Eastern food.
Formerly of Melbourne’s MoMo (two hats – equivalent of two Michelin stars) and Petersham Nurseries Café (one Michelin star) in Richmond, UK, he is currently based in Dubai setting up a new restaurant, due to open in September 2014. Greg travels widely for master classes and guest-chef appearances and consults to restaurants in Australasia, Europe and the Middle East. Together with co-author Lucy Malouf, he is the co-author of six internationally acclaimed cookbooks: Arabesque, Moorish, Saha, Turquoise, Saraban and Malouf: New Middle Eastern Food.
Greg and Lucy’s new book on modern Middle Eastern vegetarian dishes will be published in October 2014.
No other chef has exerted such a singular, widespread and identifiable culinary influence on any Australian city.
