Mélanie Chappuis grew up between Guatemala, Nigeria, Argentina, Bern and New York before studying literature at the University of Geneva. After obtaining a BA in modern/contemporary history and a DEA from the European Institute of Geneva, she worked as a freelancer in several newspapers.
In 2005, while she was working for the Swiss Roman radio, she obtained her BA in Journalism. Her first novel, Frida, was published by Bernard Campiche Publishers in 2008 followed by Des baisers froids comme la lune (Kisses as Cold as the Moon) in 2010.
In September 2012, she was granted the Canton of Vaud La relève award , which rewards emerging talents with great potential. In 2013, Maculée conception (Maculate Conception) was published by Luce Wilquin.
Mélanie is also the author of the column ‘In the head of’ which is published in the Tuesday edition of the daily newspaper Le Temps.
