Mona Al Bahar
Mona Al Bahar is a member of the Federal National Council and a professor of social work at UAEU.
She received her doctorate in Social Work from Ohio State University in 1997 and undertook further research and study at the University of Michigan and at the Kennedy School of Public Policy at Harvard University. She was a recipient of the Morris Cornell Distinguished Researcher Award from Ohio State University in 1997.
Dr Al Bahar is a member of the Higher National Committee of Child Protection, board member of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Sports Creativity award, and a member of the Certificate Equivalence Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education, Abu Dhabi.
Her academic publications include: Drug Use and Abuse in United Arab Emirates Society – Case Study; Domestic Violence Concepts, Theories and Treatment; Youth and the Culture of Violence; Women’s Economic Participation.
She has written the following books: Setting Priority in Leadership and Group Work, Generalist Practice in Social Work, Social Theory and the Body (translation), Social Work Education: Reality and Challenges of Globalization.
