Harry Baker is the youngest ever World Poetry Slam Champion and has appeared on stages all around the globe, including at the Edinburgh Fringe, where his 5-Star shows, Harry Baker’s Super-Amazing Mega-Awesome Gap Year Adventures: Birth of a Champion and Proper Pop-Up Purple Paper People, were massive successes.
Alongside studying Maths and German at the University of Bristol he released his debut anthology The Sunshine Kid in December 2014 with Burning Eye Books. The book details his journey from performing Jay Z-Maths parodies in school competitions to representing his country all over the world and his eventual win at the World Poetry Slam Competition.
Coming off the back of his 5-star solo show of the same name at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2015, The Sunshine Kid contains the raw honesty, tongue-in-cheek honour and blistering wordplay that has captured the hearts and minds of audiences all over the world.
Baker’s captivating live performances have gained him recognition nationally and internationally, most recently having his work shared on the homepage of TED.com and viewed over a million times.
