Kate Lord Brown
Kate Lord Brown worked as an art consultant curating collections for palaces and embassies in Europe and the Middle East. When she left London for the orange groves of Valencia, Brown began to write full time, publishing work internationally and gaining a MA in Creative Writing.
Her debut novel The Beauty Chorus was published by Atlantic in 2011. The Perfume Garden, based on Brown’s experience in living in Spain, was shortlisted for the Romantic Novel of the Year 2014, and has been published in nine languages.
In 2015, The Christmas We Met will be published by Orion, followed by The House Of Dreams, which is set in Marseilles, France during World War II and follows a group of rescue workers, refugee intellectuals and artists in hiding. The House Of Dreams will be published by Thomas Dunne/ St Martin’s in 2016.
Brown won the regional BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition in 2015.
She now lives in the Middle East.
