Luigi Bonomi

Luigi Bonomi is a literary agent who has launched the careers of many bestselling authors. He is the founder of Luigi Bonomi Associates (LBA), which represents a variety of authors, journalists and writers, including John Humphrys, Esther Rantzen and Alan Titchmarsh.
In addition to his day job, he is Honorary Professor of Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University and Literary Consultant for the Sunday Times Oxford University Literary Festival. In 2010 he won the Bookseller Industry Award for Literary Agent of the Year.
He read English Literature at University College, London and at Dartmouth College in the USA, and subsequently worked as a bookseller, publisher, editor and agent, before leaving Sheil Land Associates, where he had worked for eight years, to set up LBA in 2005.
Since 2013, Bonomi has judged the Montegrappa Writing Prize, an initiative by the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, Montegrappa and Luigi Bonomi Associates to find publishers for new UAE-based writers, and the Quick Pitch, a ten-minute mini-workshop in which authors can directly pitch their manuscripts and get instant feedback.
Both the Montegrappa Writing Prize and the Quick Pitch will return in 2016.
