Dr. Qais Ghanem is recently retired associate professor of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He immigrated to Canada in 1970. In 1979, he started the division of neurology at Rashid Hospital, Dubai.

He is the creator and host of the CHIN Radio talk show Dialogue with Diversity on 97.9FM in Ottawa, Canada, now five years old, and winner of four national awards. Three years ago, he started a monthly discussion circle called Dialogue for Democracy.

He is the author of a book of English and Arabic verse entitled From Left to Right, and of a new novel about democracy and women's rights entitled Final Flight From Sanaa. He runs a busy website

Several years ago, he coined the acronym SCSC = Stop Complaining - Start Contributing!
